24th of September 2014 car appraiser came to me to evaluate damage.

Below is his report.
It's so called "global" or "open" report when he just estimates repair cost based on visual inspection. Normally, he should estimate repair (draft report), approve which parts should be changed, workshop show fix the car and after that appraiser should correct report based on done work.

But "open" report is good for... if you decide not to fix the car, but you need some "paper" for insurance company. That is my case. Bumpers so attractive to asshole drivers and chance that it will be hit again raised by Murphy's law. But we need to get money from Ms. "Oh, I didn't Do That" driver.

Also I have to note that such report cost estimation based on repair cost I got from Honda dealership for replacing bumper. Basically, I went to Honda and asked how much it will cost to fix this consequences.  Now it's not just coloring the bumper and in prev case. Because both bumper components was affected (black part in the middle and outer bumper plastic), the only fix is to replace the whole thing now.

 It says, 1,100 NIS for labor and 2,073+3,436 NIS for parts, plus add 18% VAT to it = 7,799 NIS in total.

So, back to report :-)

This report was sent to my insurance agent and he handle all the case until I got money back.
By the way, appraiser estimated it differently from Honda.
Labor: 950 NIS
Color: 700 NIS
Parts: 3,436 NIS - only outer bumper part.
Total: 5,086 NIS, with 18% VAT: 6,001 NIS
The explanation is like this. You can claim everything possible labor and parts. But, they can argue with you later. So he took golden middle based on his 20+ years experience and choose only this. And, as you will see later, they buy it exactly as we claimed, not less.

Depreciation was estimated as 0.5% of cars value at moment of accident (117,201 NIS) = 586 NIS.

10th of November I got papers from our advocate (he represents us vs their insurance), signed.
And first paycheck was issued 12th Nov 2014, 6 month after accident.

Hooray! Suck it, motherfuckers! I remind that they didn't want to acknowledge that they did this.
5,736 NIS = our 5,036 NIS (w/o VAT estimation) + 700 NIS for appraiser that I paid from my pocket.

The second paycheck was for depreciation. They said a paper asking me to sign that I agree for 450 NIS depreciation compensation instead of 586 NIS. Agent said worthless arguing and we agreed for their proposal.

So, bottom line of the story.
I got 6,186 NIS for that accident. I think that is good resolution for me, not perfect, but okay. Dashcam just done its job right and we made people pay for their mistake. I'm not sure if SHE will pay or her company will get insurance raise for a car. Hope it will be she... Can I dream? :-)

Get dashboard camera guys with parking mode. Not stupid cheapass dashcams from aliexpress but real one that records only if there was sensor buzz. And wish you to avoid such problems.

Start of the story here.

I was today at police station regarding my case.
I didn't recieved any SMS with status update after 2 month and tomorrow I should meet appraisal ("shamai").

My case is still in investigation status. It can take time for final result.
The only thing I need is case number that we (I and my insurance agent) will use for courts.

Bumper Scratch

Okay, bumper, you just not lucky...

While I was in army since 8th of July at operation Protective Edge driving my Mercedes Benz

Two things happened.

First, puncture...

Car was standing on this empty week for about 10 days. Not a big thing. I've came at night to take it, replaced with spare tyre and went home. With air compressor I've pumped it to 1 psi just to get rid of flat tyre until I go to tyre shop.

And second thing, bumper.
I was mobilized to army at 8th of July for Protective Edge operation in Gaza. I parked my Civic near my army base in Tirat ha-Carmel in Haifa 8th at night. Next day in morning some bitch scratched my bumper and drove away!

That is what I found after a week when I came to take my car to another army base in Ramle.

I think it was a woman (because of long hair on video) on Isuzu D-Max, reg. 93-890-13.

I filed "hit and run" report at police about this accident ("Paga ve Barakh").

Update (2014-07-27)
The report I've left at the police station in Netanya

They took it and gave me details of the Isuzu: Yakov Maliach company from 4 HaTe'ena St, Elyakhin (not far from Netanya).

I gave that information to my insurance agent. He called them and gave me phone number of contact person to whom I should send recorded video.

Update (2014-07-30)

I called to the company and send video to maliach@maliach.co.il.

They didn't find any collisions between two cars! I asked if they hear any sound at 5th second, they haven't speakers so we ended on that they will watch it again with sound... 

Few notes from the conversations with them:

1. They thought it accident was in Tel Aviv and she said that car has tracking system Ituran and on that day and time it was in Haifa. Bingo! Exactly where it happend :-)

2. The driver, Dina, told that she is volontier in Police for 6 years and never in her life did anything like that. I called her lier.

First bumber scratch, ouch

It was my colleague from work. Woman, ~60 years old...
She said will pay.

Her Hyundai I30 also damaged a bit. She was parking in reverse and... shit.

So next day I went to Honda in Netanya to check what they can offer to fix it.

First, they suggest not painting part of the bumper but paint it all.
1200 NIS. They tool car at morning, paint in some outside shop and return by evening.

I was curious if we can replace bumper.
Yes, 5,420 NIS. Look closely, they order generic bumper and paint in your color.

So I asked, if it possible to order bumper in my color? :-)
6,660 NIS

I was also checking recommendations from friends and find a good place in new industrial zone near car audio workshop "Radio Bla Bla".
He asked 600 NIS for all work, will paint only right part of the bumper. Color matching done by computer.

I'm still thinking should I fix it or not...

Update (2014-06-10)
Also recommended (from insurance agent) repairs shop in Kfar Saba, Yakov Berman 052-220-7700.

Got a check from lady, not yet repaired. And don't think I'll fix that now.
